I have been practicing law in Allegany County since April 1988. During that time, I have represented people in a wide variety of legal matters. These have included civil lawsuits, such as personal injury cases, contract disputes, boundary line disputes and commercial litigation. My clients have included individual plaintiffs and defendants, as well as insurance companies and corporations.
I have handled numerous real estate and loan transactions, residential and commercial, large and small. The real estate work I have done includes several cases involving mineral rights, including oil and gas rights. My experience includes business planning and start-ups, as well as sales and purchases of existing businesses and business assets. I have extensive experience in estate and tax planning, wills and trusts and estate administration. I have handled zoning and land use matters for people trying to navigate the complex rules governing land use and development.
I have also represented clients in other regulatory matters, including Motor Vehicle Administration cases. I have represented injured workers in Workers Compensation cases, and I have handled cases for employers and insurers. I have worked as the prosecutor in the State's Attorney's Office and have defended people charged with crimes.
My experience has allowed me to see legal matters from diverse perspectives. I understand the needs of injured claimants but I also know first-hand how the insurance industry works. I know the concerns of both buyers and sellers of real estate, as well as buyers and sellers of businesses and business assets.
As a general practice attorney for over twenty five years, I have learned how to negotiate favorable settlements for my clients, and how to enforce their rights in court when a favorable settlement cannot be reached. I look forward to putting that experience to work for you, to make sure that your legal rights are protected and enforced.
